Motografix is a website dedicated to displaying Historic car and bike racing images. Grant Paterson is the photographer (based in Bathurst).
In particular, the emphasis has been placed on the spectacular and fearsome sounding Formula 5000 open wheelers which raced in the UK, USA, South Africa, Australia and NZ from the late 1960's through to 1982.
However, images from other Historic racing categories and general motor sport are available also, from various venues, including Mount Panorama in Bathurst NSW.
Browse the image gallery and view photos taken at recent meetings in Australia (Oran Park - now closed), Eastern Creek, Wakefield Park, Winton & Phillip Island), New Zealand (Hampton Downs and Pukekohe) and in the UK (Goodwood).
Pit activity is photographed also. This generates discussion from those competing and often prompts stories from the past, from 'times gone by'. This is all part of the character and camaraderie of historic car and bike racing. It could be argued that todays racing lacks this atmosphere?
